Behavioral health
services in West Hartford

Therapy and psychiatry in the same practice, so your clinicians talk to each other instead of leaving you to relay the details. Every service below has its own page with what to expect, who it is for, and how to start.

Starting care,
step by step

No referral is required to reach out. The first appointment is an evaluation: what you have tried, what has helped, and what you want to be different.

Step 01

Reach out

Send the request form or call the office. Tell us what you are looking for and whether you want therapy, medication support, or both.

Step 02

Initial evaluation

A full intake with your clinician covering history, current symptoms, prior treatment, and goals, ending with a plan you agree to.

Step 03

Ongoing care

Regular sessions, medication follow-up, and, when it is the right fit, Spravato® treatment, with your care team communicating internally.

Questions
before you call

If the answer you need is not here, the office can walk you through it before you commit to an appointment.

Do I need a referral?

No referral is needed to request an appointment with us. Some insurance plans require one for coverage, so it is worth checking your plan before your first visit.

What happens at the first appointment?

An evaluation. Your clinician reviews your history, current symptoms, medications, and what you want from treatment, then builds a plan with you. Nothing is prescribed or scheduled without that conversation.

Who is Spravato® for?

Spravato® (esketamine) is approved for adults with treatment-resistant depression, meaning depression that has not responded to at least two antidepressants taken at an adequate dose and duration. It is taken as a nasal spray in the office, and you stay for about two hours of monitoring afterward and cannot drive for the rest of the day. Eligibility is decided at a clinical evaluation, not online.

Do you take my insurance?

Contact the office with your plan name and member ID and we will confirm coverage and any authorization requirements before you are scheduled.

Is what I say confidential?

Yes. Your records are protected under HIPAA and Connecticut law, and information is shared outside the practice only with your written authorization or where the law requires it.
