condition

Each guide explains the condition in plain words, lists the signs, says when to get help, and explains how we treat it.

Other things that
bring people in

Not everything that makes life hard has a diagnosis name. These are common reasons people come to individual therapy.

Work stress and burnout Life transitions Relationship difficulties Anger and irritability Low self-worth Adjustment after illness

If what you are dealing with is not on this page, it is still worth a call. Our individual therapy service covers many of these, and the office will tell you plainly if we are not the right fit.

Not sure what you have?

You do not need to know. The first visit is an evaluation of about an hour, and it is built to turn "something is off" into a clear picture and a plan. No referral needed.

What to expect

Questions about
getting started

The ones the office fields most often from people deciding whether to book.

Do I need a diagnosis to book an appointment?

No. You can request an evaluation without a diagnosis. You can contact us directly; the office can help check whether your insurance plan requires a referral.

What if I have symptoms of more than one condition?

That is very common. Depression and anxiety often occur together, and so do ADHD and anxiety, or PTSD and sleep problems. We look at the whole picture and write one plan.

Who do you see?

We see adults 18 and over for individual care, in person at our West Hartford office. We do not offer telehealth.

What if my condition is not on this list?

Contact the office to discuss your needs. We can help determine whether our services may be a fit or whether another service would be more appropriate.

How do I know whether I need therapy, medicine, or both?

You do not have to decide in advance. The evaluation matches the approach to the problem. Many conditions respond to therapy, some to medicine, and many to a combination.

If you are in crisis, do not wait for an appointment

Call or text 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, available 24 hours a day. Call 211 for Connecticut crisis services, or 911 if there is immediate danger.
